Your 10-night Liveaboard Adventure With Pixel Expeditions
Pixel Expeditions heads to one of the most remote and exhilarating dive destinations on Earth - Cocos Island. Born of volcanic fire more than two million years ago, Cocos rises from the Pacific like a lost world, shrouded in mist and mystery.
Underwater, it’s simply unmatched. These nutrient-rich waters attract pelagic giants: whale sharks, tiger and Galapagos sharks, dolphins, marble rays, and, most famously, massive schools of scalloped hammerheads sweeping through the blue. This is truly a place where divers witness the ocean as it once was: raw, wild, and abundant.
Topside, Cocos is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, home to dense rainforests, endemic birdlife, and centuries of explorer lore. Rock carvings in Chatham Bay hint at a history of adventurers, pirates, and treasure seekers.
This 10-night voyage gives you the chance to experience it all. With expert photography guidance, workshops, and plenty of time underwater, it’s a trip designed for divers who want more than just a dive holiday. It’s immersion into one of the last frontiers.
What a Diving Day Looks Like
A typical day offers 3 dives per day, generally around 60 - 100 feet (18 - 30 metres) :
Breakfast → briefing → Dive 1
Snack time → relaxation → briefing → Dive 2
Lunch → relaxation → briefing → Dive 3
Afternoon snack → relaxation
Dinner & downtime (and maybe a few Lightroom tips over dessert!)
There will also be 1 or 2 land visits throughout the trip.
NOTE: The crossing to Cocos is approx. 32 - 36 hours and so there are 7 days of diving with days 1 & 2 and day 10 spent relaxing during the crossings.

Its remote location and strict protection make it one of the last true underwater frontiers, ideal for advanced divers seeking unforgettable big-animal diving.

Diving at Cocos Island is best suited for advanced divers due to strong currents, surge, and depths averaging 18–30 metres (60–100 feet). Divers should be comfortable with drift dives, negative entries, and blue-water ascents. An Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent) and recent dive experience are strongly recommended to enjoy this destination safely and fully.

Cocos Island can only be accessed by liveaboard. Trips depart from Puntarenas, Costa Rica, with a 32–36 hour ocean crossing each way. This means most itineraries, like the 10-night expedition aboard Sea Hunter, offer 7 full days of diving at Cocos.
