Small-group dive and wildlife expeditions
Hammerheads at Malpelo. Basking sharks off the Dingle Peninsula. Grey whales in Magdalena Bay. We take small groups to the places where the big encounters happen, with a Pixel Expeditions guide on every trip.

Upcoming departures
We run these in small numbers, and the best dates go early. Four of our five Magdalena Bay departures for 2026 sold out. Here's what's coming up.
Schools of sardines and mackerel, driven upward by marlin, sea lions, dolphins, and even whales. Above, pelicans and frigates dive from the sky.
Magdalena Bay
Witness humpbacks breaching in Cabo, meet grey whales up close in Magdalena Bay, and marvel at the majestic blue whales in Loreto.
Baja Peninsula
Have you always wanted to swim with the second-largest fish in the ocean? We’re returning to the beautiful Kerry to make the dream a reality.
West of Ireland
From vast schools of hammerheads to majestic manta rays, this voyage promises breathtaking encounters above and below the waves.
Malpelo Island
Choose by type
Seven to ten nights at sea, diving remote islands and atolls from Socorro to Palau. For certified divers; some trips need real experience in currents.
Liveaboards
Whales, sea lions, dolphins and basking sharks from small boats. While you’ll spend plenty of time on the water, these expeditions require no scuba certification.

How we run an expedition
SMALL GROUPS: So everyone gets time with the guide and space on the dive deck.
NAMED BOATS: Every trip page tells you which boat you're on: Nautilus Explorer, Sea Hunter, MV Ferox, Palau Siren. You can look them up before you book.
STRAIGHT ANSWERS: Wildlife encounters are never guaranteed; this is the ocean. We'll tell you what's likely, what's possible and what would be a lucky day.
RESPECTFULLY EPIC: Local operators, researchers where we can work with them, and as little waste as we can manage. Our Ireland boat tracks basking shark activity alongside researchers.
We keep groups small, choose boats and operators we know, and send one of our guides along to brief, coach and change the plan when the weather turns.

On day 5 of our Palau Siren liveaboard, 700 Moorish Idols left the reef — and 200 sharks followed. Here's our full trip report from Palau's once-a-year spawning expedition.
